Helpless. Worthless. Unlovable.

So, so many of us live in one of these lies, and it’s impacting EVERYTHING.

It impacts our relationships. It impacts our creativity. It impacts our careers. While most of us would never believe these lies about someone else, we let ourselves believe them every day.

This year, I’ve struggled quite a lot with breaking down a lie of my own: “I do not matter.” This was never a lie told to me by friends or family or even strangers on the internet. It was simply something I picked up along the way and clung to for countless years. You see, it feels easier to sit in a lie like this. Easier to say “I’m not a person worth being friends with” than to go out and actually make a friend. Easier to say “I’m never going to get this brand deal” than to take a risk and send a pitch email. I shared the journey of this lie, how it shaped me, and how I broke free from it in this video, and if you’ve been struggling with a lie of your own, I’d love for you to give it a watch.

Breaking free from the lie was no easy feat, and I truly believe it was only by the power of Jesus that I did. One of the verses that’s been swirling around in my mind ever since (and inspired the painting below!) is Psalm 139: 14: “I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well.”

My friend, if you’ve been living in a lie to, let me tell you the truth: you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You MATTER. You MEAN SOMETHING. And don’t let anyone (including you) tell you that you don’t.

If you like this painting and want to pick up a print of it, you can snag one here! And you know there’s a lil’ freebie coming your way, too 😉
