After many posts early on in the week yapping non-stop about the launch of my first art book, I’m sure the radio silence over the past couple of days has been welcome. 😂 The truth is, I’ve been at a bit of a loss for what to say. But let’s rewind…
We did the math and figured out that, in order to cover the cost of printing 100 books as well as purchasing the necessary shipping materials, I would need to sell around 35 books. Now, I had a big dream that I was too nervous to share with anyone, fully convinced that dream wouldn’t come to fruition: I wanted to meet that 35-book goal on the FIRST DAY of pre-orders.
Launch finally day arrived (after MUCH anticipation on my part), and we didn’t sell 35.
We sold 50.
50 books. On the FIRST DAY.
To say I was absolutely blown away by your support and encouragement would be the greatest understatement. Y’all showed up for launch day and made that super big dream come true! So, I wanted to say THANK YOU. Thank you for loving my characters. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for adopting my book to put on your shelf. This means more to me than you will ever know. 💛
