If you were to visit my home, you are guaranteed to hear the word “simplify.”
This has been a motto on our household in a MULTITUDE of ways, and it’s made all the difference. From simplifying our meal planning, simplifying workout routines, simplifying our belongings… The “simplify” mindset has been life-changing.
The truth is, our things don’t just take up space in our homes; they take up space in our minds.
As we’ve stepped into this wonderful autumn season, I’ve found myself simplifying my surroundings once again. Not for the sake of having less “stuff,” but to make sure that the stuff I do have is a genuine source of joy.

Things like this happy little bird figurine. Things like the books on my shelves. Things like my gouache supplies and my wall art.
And the things that aren’t big YES’s for me… well it’s time for me to let them go.
If you’re looking to step into a cozy season yourself, I want to encourage you to simplify your own surroundings. What are three things that are taking up space in your home and mind without truly giving you joy? Let those three things go, and notice the weight that lifts from your shoulders and the coziness that settles in.
