Over the years, I’ve ventured through MANY different art themes, styles, and subjects… From moody portraits to ethereal adventures to cozy critters in cardigans. The journey of creativity is truly spectacular, and I’m so grateful for each and every season I’ve been through. From each one, I’ve learned something new. Learned what I like and what I don’t like. Learned new techniques. Learned endurance and discipline and a willingness to show up.

But although I appreciate every creative season, I can honestly say this is my favorite one yet. If I could only create art centered on one thing for the rest of my life, I would joyfully stay here in the Meraki Meadow. Not only has the Meraki Meadow taught me just how much I love painting these characters in this style, but it’s also taught me what truly matters to me in my own life. It inspires me to see the beauty where I am. You see, I think it takes a lot of courage to be content with who you are, where you are, what you have… And that’s exactly what each and every one of these characters does. From baking a fresh batch of eclairs for the display case…

…to stamping an envelope…

…to cleaning their homes…

There’s a loveliness and joyfulness to these little lives that I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of painting, and each time I paint them I’m reminded of the beauty of my own little life.

If you’d like a bit more of this Meraki magic in YOUR life, I’d love for you to join the Meraki Mail Club! This sweet little community has been growing so much, and it truly means the world to me. Every month you’ll receive an envelope full of coziness, curiosity, and creativity centered around the Meraki Meadow and the lovely little lives of its inhabitants! I have some exciting new ideas for the upcoming envelopes, so sign up soon so you don’t miss it. 😉
