Where are you RIGHT NOW?

It’s the last month of our first quarter in 2024! *cue the Final Countdown song* For many of us, this is a crummy reminder of all the goals we set for the New Year that we haven’t even begun to tackle. (Trust me, I’m right there with you.) I was looking at my Quarter One goals and realized, I haven’t even completed half of them. At first I was discouraged…

Where did I let all that time go?! But as I began to take a closer look at those goals, I realized some of them simply didn’t align with where I’m at RIGHT NOW. Sure, they’re goals that still align with my full-year plan, but for the first quarter they just weren’t going to happen.

Instead, I pursued other things. I revisited surface pattern design and pitched my portfolio to a few companies. I started an educational tier on Patreon (that FAR EXCEEDED my expectations, and is absolutely THRIVING!). I’ve been working like crazy in my sketchbook, have planned out several new paintings, and got in touch with an unexpected new brand (more on that in a future newsletter.) The time didn’t slip away, I simply used it for things that were more in line with where I’m at right now.

So, if you haven’t touched some of your New Year’s goals yet, don’t be discouraged! Take a look at the amazing things you HAVE pursued this year. I’m guessing there’re at least a few that’ll make you go “wow, I DID THAT!” Life has a way of presenting you with opportunities you couldn’t even imagine, and that’s pretty cool.
