Project: Little Lives

If you had come to me in 2024 and told me I would publish a book the following year, I never would have believed you. If you’d told me I would publish my THIRD book in 2026? I would’ve politely handed you a straight-jacket.

And yet, here we are.

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been carefully crafting my third book (the second in my Meraki Mondays sketch collection) and loving every moment of it. I’ve lovingly titled this endeavor “PROJECT: LITTLE LIVES” (the true title is still under wraps 😉).

The first book will always hold such a special place in my heart, but I believe I’m even more excited for this one. In it, I’m sharing more of the lore of the Meraki Meadow in both poems and story snippets, and I’ll be sharing more of my own thoughts on slow, joyful, contented living.

Many of us have been led to believe that a lovely life must be built of an endless stream of extraordinary adventures. In reality, most mornings we wake up to nothing new and simply DIG OUR HANDS INTO THE DIRT of today. Yet, the wisest know that the “nothing new” is nothing less than lovely. Our lives are full. Full of paint-palette sunsets, sweet treats, and FLOURISHING FRIENDSHIPS.

However, great joys often walk hand in hand with great sorrows. WHEN THE GOING GETS HARD, we must make our way through the grief and grime of the season and remember that there is still beauty to be found in the crunch and color of AUTUMN LEAVES and warmth in the HEARTH OF HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Though grand adventures may be few and far between in our stories, we can taste the SWEETNESS OF THE SIMPLE, everyday moments and find the flavor to be more to our liking. It is only by taking a step back and gazing over it all that we see it: all these colorful, clumsy, mismatched, and messy threads coming together to create the truly spectacular tapestries of lovely little lives…
